Ferguson Protesters Beat Out By Ebola Fighters For Time’s ‘Person Of The Year’

The Urban Daily

time poy 2014Time magazine made their decision for their annual “Person of the Year” issue, and for 2014 it goes to the Ebola fighters because they “risked and persisted, sacrificed and saved.”

It comes with a little sting, because the Ferguson protesters, who were a runner-up, have been marching since Michael Brown was shot and killed by officer Darren Wilson on August 9. This unofficial civil war hasn’t gone away.

The other runner-ups for “Person of the Year” include the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin; the president of Iraqi Kurdistan, Masoud Barzani; and Alibaba founder, Jack Ma.
