(First) Kiss and Tell – Character Chemistry Done Right

Chemistry is one of those things that can be hard to describe unless it’s there. When it’s there – it’s on fire. You know it when you’ve felt it. It’s intoxicating – and it’s not just for lovers. It shows up between enemies and friends.

As a writer, I find that character chemistry is something that can make or break your book. Chemistry has to exist just as much as the conflict that you’re trying to resolve.

So, how do you translate chemistry to the page? How do you make the reader believe that there’s a tangible connection between these two characters? How do you make it believable that these characters can’t ignore each other even if they want to?
